Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.29%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.29%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tsann Kuen Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2430), which rose 9.98% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Voltronic Power Technology Corp (TW:6409) added 8.21% or 135.00 points to end at 1,780.00 and New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516) was up 7.88% or 1.80 points to 24.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:2466), which fell 9.92% or 8.40 points to trade at 76.30 at the close. Aurotek Corp (TW:6215) declined 9.88% or 12.50 points to end at 114.00 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was down 9.84% or 1.25 points to 11.45.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516) rose to all time highs; rising 7.88% or 1.80 to 24.65. Shares in Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.84% or 1.25 to 11.45.

Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.63% or 0.43 to $67.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.85% or 0.61 to hit $71.01 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 1.48 to trade at $2,899.62 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 32.93, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.02% to 0.22.
