Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.29%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Glass, Transport and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.29%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aurotek Corp (TW:6215), which rose 10.00% or 7.60 points to trade at 83.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408) added 9.97% or 3.20 points to end at 35.30 and Shenmao Technology Inc (TW:3305) was up 9.96% or 5.20 points to 57.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were CTCI Corp (TW:9933), which fell 9.97% or 3.50 points to trade at 31.60 at the close. Silergy Corp (TW:6415) declined 6.75% or 31.00 points to end at 428.00 and Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) was down 6.67% or 2.10 points to 29.40.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in CTCI Corp (TW:9933) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.97% or 3.50 to 31.60. Shares in Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.67% or 2.10 to 29.40.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.36% or 0.87 to $63.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.28% or 0.87 to hit $67.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 2.06% or 68.44 to trade at $3,396.84 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 32.52, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.29% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.19% at 97.95.
