Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.21%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.21% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 2.29% or 0.15 points to trade at 6.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 2.25% or 0.40 points to end at 18.20 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 1.83% or 0.05 points to 2.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 4.81% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.14 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 1.14% or 0.05 points to end at 4.15 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was down 0.99% or 0.14 points to 14.07.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (ELI:SEM) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.25% or 0.40 to 18.20.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 2.35% or 1.55 to $64.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.36% or 1.49 to hit $61.66 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.00% or 31.99 to trade at $3,220.29 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
