Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.33%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which rose 2.07% or 1.25 points to trade at 61.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) added 1.78% or 1.35 points to end at 77.35 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was up 1.78% or 8.50 points to 485.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which fell 5.21% or 3.45 points to trade at 62.80 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 2.51% or 1.68 points to end at 65.16 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was down 1.22% or 2.80 points to 226.60.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 52 to 40 and 16 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.01% or 32.29 to $3,220.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.44% or 1.54 to hit $61.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 1.59 to trade at $64.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 100.69.
