France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.65%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.65%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 0.16% or 0.03 points to trade at 18.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 27.12 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was down 0.05% or 0.02 points to 39.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 4.80% or 12.60 points to trade at 250.00 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 4.56% or 0.42 points to end at 8.75 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 4.23% or 0.95 points to 21.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which rose 9.32% to 217.00, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 7.24% to settle at 3.48 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 4.70% to close at 37.87.
The worst performers were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) which was down 4.80% to 250.00 in late trade, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which lost 4.56% to settle at 8.75 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) which was down 4.23% to 21.52 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 310 to 178 and 81 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.93% or 63.56 to $3,358.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.57% or 0.35 to hit $61.55 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.35 to trade at $64.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 99.15.
