Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.64%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.64%, while the MDAX index fell 0.02%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.10%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 2.32% or 3.78 points to trade at 166.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.02% or 1.76 points to end at 88.92 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was up 1.99% or 5.25 points to 269.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 3.84% or 1.24 points to trade at 31.08 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 1.51% or 4.30 points to end at 281.20 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was down 1.43% or 2.50 points to 172.15.

The top performers on the MDAX were AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which rose 4.66% to 24.72, RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which was up 4.36% to settle at 85.05 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.95% to close at 12.21.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 8.03% to 22.80 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 5.83% to settle at 10.10 and flatexDEGIRO AG (ETR:FTKn) which was down 2.89% to 24.84 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which rose 4.40% to 24.90, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 3.63% to settle at 23.42 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.95% to close at 12.21.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 0.46% to 54.60 in late trade, PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which lost 0.39% to settle at 15.28 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 0.36% to 38.58 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 366 to 259 and 20 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to all time highs; up 2.02% or 1.76 to 88.92. Shares in RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.36% or 3.55 to 85.05.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.40% to 20.52.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.73% or 24.90 to $3,372.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.66% or 1.04 to hit $63.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 1.05 to trade at $65.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 99.17.
