Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 2.98%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Metal Products & Machinery and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.98%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Grainturk Holding AS (IS:GRTHO), which rose 9.98% or 31.75 points to trade at 349.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) added 6.92% or 3.60 points to end at 55.65 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) was up 6.22% or 0.90 points to 15.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS:RALYH), which fell 9.99% or 11.80 points to trade at 106.30 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 4.99% or 5.70 points to end at 108.60 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) was down 3.07% or 0.05 points to 1.58.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 486 to 92 and 11 ended unchanged.

Shares in Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.07% or 0.05 to 1.58.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.70% or 23.89 to $3,373.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.92% or 1.20 to hit $63.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.79% or 1.16 to trade at $65.79 a barrel.

USD/TRY was down 0.18% to 39.12, while EUR/TRY fell 0.76% to 44.54.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 99.18.
