Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.68%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which rose 3.28% or 16.84 points to trade at 530.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) added 1.37% or 0.46 points to end at 34.13 and Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) was up 1.26% or 1.81 points to 145.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which fell 5.26% or 11.22 points to trade at 202.21 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) declined 4.26% or 0.38 points to end at 8.54 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) was down 3.31% or 0.44 points to 12.86.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 161 to 61 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.28% or 16.84 to 530.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.49% or 50.80 to $3,453.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 7.55% or 5.14 to hit $73.18 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 7.43% or 5.15 to trade at $74.51 a barrel.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 98.11.
