Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.91%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronics and Electrical/Machinery sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.91% to hit a new 3-months high.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ichia Technologies Inc (TW:2402), which rose 10.00% or 3.90 points to trade at 42.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiwan Mask Corp (TW:2338) added 9.95% or 2.90 points to end at 32.05 and HTC Corp (TW:2498) was up 9.93% or 3.75 points to 41.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ITEQ Corp (TW:6213), which fell 5.86% or 5.50 points to trade at 88.30 at the close. Topkey Corp (TW:4536) declined 5.59% or 10.50 points to end at 177.50 and CyberPower Systems Inc (TW:3617) was down 5.20% or 14.50 points to 264.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.24% or 0.17 to hit $69.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 7.50 to trade at $3,337.80 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.02% to 29.42, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.08% to 0.24.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 98.29.
