Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.49%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.49% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which rose 2.89% or 1.60 points to trade at 56.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) added 2.59% or 3.30 points to end at 130.70 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was up 1.90% or 3.46 points to 185.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA), which fell 3.08% or 1.59 points to trade at 50.03 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) declined 3.06% or 7.90 points to end at 250.03 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) was down 2.23% or 14.28 points to 626.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 98 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.90% or 3.46 to 185.46.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.90% or 33.10 to $3,719.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.96% or 0.60 to hit $63.29 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $67.47 a barrel.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.96.
