Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.00%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.00%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 4.58% or 1.39 points to trade at 31.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) added 4.12% or 5.65 points to end at 142.84 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) was up 2.87% or 1.06 points to 38.01 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which fell 3.92% or 0.66 points to trade at 16.16 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) declined 1.46% or 2.88 points to end at 193.91 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) was down 1.44% or 1.52 points to 103.77.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 138 to 79 and 17 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.58% or 1.39 to 31.73.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 2.45 to $3,045.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.29% or 0.88 to hit $69.16 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 20.05, while EUR/MXN rose 0.08% to 21.64.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.98.
