Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.37%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Surgutneftegas PJSC (MCX:SNGS), which rose 3.59% or 0.94 points to trade at 27.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM) added 1.52% or 1.07 points to end at 71.46 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) was up 1.28% or 0.13 points to 10.01 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which fell 7.03% or 41.50 points to trade at 548.50 at the close. AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) declined 4.36% or 2.57 points to end at 56.32 and Severstal PJSC (MCX:CHMF) was down 3.91% or 51.20 points to 1,259.80.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 156 to 86 and 9 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 1.25% to 43.84.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 2.45 to $3,045.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.29% or 0.88 to hit $69.16 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.03% to 83.90, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.60.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.98.
